Recovery Oriented Practice in Antelope Vally and Long Beach! 

MHA Recovery Oriented Practice Immersion Training (ROP) is a 2-day training consisting of workshops and activities designed to immerse participants in the principles and practice of recovery focused service delivery with a strong emphasis on the relationship between the provider and the individual. The training is also based on the stages of recovery of hope, empowerment, self responsibility and meaningful roles as well as the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation. 

Workshop topics include:  

  • developing hope in those we serve and ourselves
  • creating opportunities for people to find their strengths
  • building the recovery relationship
  • principle guided decision making
  • taking responsibility and taking charge of one's life
  • the role of culture in recovery
  • helping people find roles that give them meaning and purpose

                     Training Environments

The training dates for the the Antelope Valley Enrichment Center in Lancaster, California are scheduled from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday and Tuesday.

 

 

 

The Trainings in Long Beach are at The Village and are scheduled from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm each date.  

 

 Who should participate in the training?

The training is recommended for staff at multiple levels.  In addition to line staff and direct service workers, program leaders who are responsible for program design should especially attend as they can assist system change better when they understand the recovery process.  Line staff can be better recovery workers when they are supported by administrators who have a shared vision.

Participants can be staff, supervisors, administrators, mental health and adult system of care directors, and partners (including faith based organizations, housing providers and law enforcement).

Cost: The tuition for the 2-day training is $700 per person. Please contact us for rates for groups of 10 or more. This tuition covers the cost of training only and does not cover lodging, transportation, or meals.

CEs: This program has been approved to provide 12 continuing education hours for RNs, LCSWs and MFTs by the following organizations The National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886729862), The Board of Registered Nurses (License No. CEP16746) and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CE Provider #130632). 

Course meets the qualifications for 12 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences; Mental Health America of Los Angeles is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs Mental Health America of Los Angeles maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.

Addressing Grievances: For those participants whose registration is paid tuition, the participant must notify the training facilitator before the end of the training that he/she is not satisfied with the training and will stop attending the training. Depending on the grievance the training facilitator will decide what administrative fee will be assessed. Once someone has attended the full training, received a certificate of completion, no refund will be available.

MHALA Refund/Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are accepted at any point up until 30 days before the training for 20% cancellation fee. Cancellations that occur less than 30 days before the training will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee. No-shows are subject to the full training costs. A registration cancellation via mail, email or phone.

Payment: MHALA Training and Workforce Development Department will provide an invoice for the tuition and/or fees after the training is completed. Please pay according to the instructions on the invoice. Payment can be made by check or credit card which has an additional 3% processing fee. If paying by credit card, please inform MHALA at the time of registration. If a W-9 or other accounting paperwork, please submit the request at registration.
